Cheyenne, WY – Retiring District Judge Gary P. Hartman of Worland will join Gov. Dave Freudenthal's staff as an adviser on juvenile justice issues this summer.
Hartman plans to retire from the bench in August. Freudenthal's office says Hartman is a nationally recognized leader in the prevention of child abuse and neglect.
Freudenthal says Wyoming has much work to do on juvenile issues. He says Hartman is the best person to focus on the issue.
Hartman says he plans to evaluate existing juvenile justice programs among various state agencies. He says he will work with the judiciary to develop uniform state policies.
