Freudenthal Proposes Tax Break

Cheyenne, Wy – Governor Freudenthal is proposing a
one-year property tax holiday.
Freudenthal says his proposal would save homeowners 114 dollars
for every 100-thousand dollars of the value of their home.
The plan coincides with the release of a report that puts
Wyoming's projected surplus for this winter's legislative session
at 813 (M) million dollars. That would be up from 105 (M) million
at the end of this year's session.
State Senator Cale Case says he's in favor of lower taxes but
would prefer to lower taxes over more than just one year.
Wyoming's property taxes are already among the lowest in the
nation. State officials say that only Alabama has lower property
taxes.
