Freudenthal Sees Flaws in National Energy Policy
Cheyenne, Wy – In Washington D-C the energy bill is stalled in the Senate after a bipartisan filibuster. Wyoming's congressional delegation is upset and wants to see the bill pass. All three members of the delegation are Republican.
Governor Dave Freudenthal, a Democrat, says from what he knows about the bill there are some parts he doesn't like. For instance he has a fundamental concern about giving tax incentives to the energy industry. He says the energy sector is one sector of the economy that is healthy and will be into the future.
Freudenthal admits he has not had a chance to read all of the bill yet so there may be reasons he doesn't understand for including the tax incentives.
