Laramie, WY – Frontier Airlines says it might be able to work with the University of Wyoming and other colleges to restore travel benefits for large groups.
UW's athletic department started using other airlines when Frontier cancelled its group travel desk as part of its bankruptcy filings. The move will force UW to pay tens of thousands of dollars more during the upcoming travel season.
Frontier's Andrea Tollar says the corporate office decided that its group travel desk didn't bring in enough revenue.
College sports teams are also concerned about surcharges for extra baggage. Tollar says schools have not approached her to negotiate a deal on baggage fees. But she says something could probably be worked out if they did.
