Jackson, Wy – The Wyoming Game and Fish Commission voted unanimously today (Tuesday) to revise the state's wolf management plan. The changes are aimed at getting the animal delisted. Game and Fish Commissioners said it's time to compromise a little to get wolves off the endangered species list. A Montana judge relisted the wolves in July after finding fault with the Wyoming plan. Commission President Jerry Galles says these revisions aim to satisfy both the judge and other interested parties.
Galles: It's important for us to have stated what we did today to let everyone in the state know from the livestock producer to the legislature to the judge in Montana that we're there. We want the responsibility to manage the wolf and it's time to give us a chance to prove to the community that we can do that
But it's too soon to say whether the changes go far enough.
