Changes in the rural landscape and added pressure on farmers and ranchers have reduced hunting opportunities for Wyoming Sportsmen. But a program offered by the Wyoming Game and Fish could change that. The Hunter Management program provides access by forging agreements with landowners who control large segments of land. Hunters pay no charge for receiving access, but they must get permission from the Game and Fish to hunt these lands. Game and Fish Access coordinator Matt Beuhler says early returns have been positive. The Game and Fish manages hunter numbers and will provide law enforcement at the sites.
