Laramie, WY – The Wyoming Game and Fish Department has been getting as many as 14 calls a week from people who have picked up baby animals they found in the wild. The Department's Warren Mischke says, that causes problems. "People even bring some of the animals into our office wanting to know what they can do with it or what we can do with it. And every time we ask them, please take it back to where you found it and release it," Mischke said.
Mis-key says, many animals hide their new babies while they feed elsewhere, and then return to them. And because many Wyoming wildlife species are giving birth right now, people are coming across the animals a lot lately. Miskey says, if you are certain that an animal has been orphaned, call the Game and Fish Department. Do not pick up the animal.
