Gas Leak Forces Evacuation of 3 Gillette Businesses

Gillette, AP – Three Gillette businesses were forced to
evacuate after a digging accident cut a 2-inch natural gas line.
Chad Kwallek is the manager of Hastings Books Music & Video in Gillette. He says customers quickly evacuated the store after being told of the gas leak Friday afternoon.
Closeout Connection and a Perkins restaurant also were evacuated.
Firefighters sealed the leak about half an hour after it was reported.
Norm Long is a spokesman for Kinder Morgan. He says Hastings and Closeout Connection were the only customers to lose gas service, and that service should have been restored by Sunday evening.
