Glenn fired as football coach

Laramie, Wy – After six seasons, Joe Glenn has been fired as Wyoming football Coach. Athletics Director Tom Burman praised Glenn as a person Sunday, but said after six seasons, they had hoped to be competing for a conference title. But this season, Wyoming was only 1-7 in Mountain West Conference play and a dismal 15-31 in Glenn's tenure. After Saturday's loss to Colorado State, Glenn acted like someone who knew what was coming and made one last pitch for his job. "I'm a big boy, I know they have a scoreboard at the end of the field. But maybe we have done some things in Wyoming that you cannot measure on the scoreboard." Glenn also pointed to the loyalty of his staff for not looking to leave.
Glenn does leave with an impressive list of upsets, including wins over UCLA, Tennessee, Virginia, and two wins over Mississippi. Burman has hired a search firm to help him find a replacement. Glenn will be paid 316 thousand dollars for the remaining two years of his contract.
