Cheyenne, Wyo. – Three of the major Wyoming Republican candidates for governor say they believe the state should join the multistate lawsuit challenging the recent federal health care reform law.
Speaking to a rally at the state Capitol on Friday, GOP candidate Ron Micheli and spokeswomen for candidates Rita Meyer and Colin Simpson all said they believe Wyoming should join with Florida and the other states challenging the law. Candidate Matt Mead didn't attend and no one spoke for him.
Libertarian candidate Mike Wheeler of Casper called the health care law unconstitutional.
Gov. Dave Freudenthal, a Democrat, has refused to join the lawsuit. He says that Wyoming will be covered by the outcome of the case regardless whether it joins.
