Gov. Says Anti-Fraud Bill Better Than Nothing
Laramie, WY – Governor Dave Freudenthal says the bill aimed at cracking down on fraudulent businesses in Wyoming was watered down too much but it's still better than nothing.
"I think it will probably prove inadequate, and we'll probably have to come back in a few years and address it again," Freudenthal said. "But it is better than leaving the status quo in place."
Freudenthal says he wanted the bill to give more responsibility to registered agents, the representatives of out-of-state people who set up corporations in Wyoming. The Governor signed the bill into law today.
