Gov Signs Off on Several Proposals
Cheyenne, Wy – Governor Freudenthal has so far signed 27 bills from this year's legislative session.
One bill makes the Sacajawea golden dollar the official state coin.
Another bill exempts public fireworks displays from the laws that prohibit fireworks in state parks.
Mothers and fathers who acknowledge paternity will have to watch a video or be given other material informing them of their rights and responsibilities under another bill. The legislation reinstates a law the Legislature inadvertently deleted last year and maintains Wyoming's compliance with federal child-support laws.
Additionally, state park rangers, assistant superintendents and superintendents have been added to the state's definition of "law enforcement officer." That grants them expanded powers.
Freudenthal has also approved temporary suspensions of the basic training requirements for National Guard members who aren't able to go through basic training before college begins. That allows them to qualify for tuition assistance.
