Governor Asks For Wyoming Range Delay
Cheyenne, Wy – Gov. Dave Freudenthal is asking the U.S. Forest Service to delay acting on a proposal to drill for natural gas in the Wyoming Range.
The Wyoming Range is a popular hunting and recreation area within the Bridger-Teton National Forest near the Idaho border.
Plains Exploration and Production Company wants to drill 136 gas wells on 17 well pads spread over about 10,000 acres in the National Forest.
The Forest Service says the plan would disrupt about 400 acres and result in building about 15 miles of road.
