Queensland, Australia – Gov. Dave Freudenthal is talking about coal-bed methane with officials in Queensland, Australia, as part of his weeklong trip to that continent. The trip is sponsored by the University of Wyoming School of Energy Resources.
The governor's office says Freudenthal talked with Australian
officials about regulations and managing water produced by coal-bed
methane wells. Freudenthal met with Premier of Queensland Anna
Bligh and spoke to about 250 people in Queensland's energy
Next up, Freudenthal plans to meet with officials with the
global mining company Rio Tinto and discuss sustainable resources
with the vice chancellor of Queensland University.
He also plans to tour a coal gasification operation
