Governor candidates discuss local government funding

Laramie, WY – Wyoming gubernatorial candidates Matt Mead and Leslie Petersen both say they favor better funding for the state's cities, towns and counties.
Republican nominee Mead and Democratic nominee Petersen
addressed the Wyoming County Commissioners' Association in Laramie
on Wednesday.
Petersen is a former Teton County commissioner. She told the
association that she favors finding a steady revenue source for
local governments so they don't have to lobby the Legislature each
year.
Mead says he believes Wyoming should be investing in local
infrastructure projects rather than putting extra money into
reserves.
Mead says construction costs are lower in tough economic times
and says state spending can keep local contractors working.
