Laramie, WY – The Governor's office is disputing a report that the Wyoming Democratic Party has been working with the governor as he prepares to appoint the state's next senator. The governor's chief of staff Chris Boswell says he only had a brief conversation with the democrats concerning a question of whether the governor has the legal right to ignore the GOP's candidates and appoint anyone he wishes. They say that's not an option the governor is considering. Still, Boswell says the suggestions have started to come in from both Democrats and Republicans about who the next senator should be. Wyoming Democratic Party Spokesman Bill Luckett says the party has not discussed the candidates political philosophy with the governor, as we had reporter earlier.
