Laramie, Wy – Governor Freudenthal today said he doesn't think his disagreements with Superintendent of Public Instruction Trent Blankenship are the reason that Blankenship is seeking a job in Alaska.
The two have clashed on a number of topics, including the state Department of Education's purchase of a building in Riverton and growth of the agency under Blankenship's watch.
During his regular news conference Wednesday, Freudenthal played down their squabbles and any possible role the disputes may have had in Blankenship's application for the superintendent's position in Barrow, Alaska.
The governor says it appears to have been simply a personal decision by Blankenship.
Blankenship hasn't been available to comment on why he sought the move.
