Governor Mead provides more flood help

Cheyenne, WY – Gov. Matt Mead has activated another Wyoming National Guard team to help with sandbagging and other flood mitigation efforts near the Little Snake River, which is
above flood stage. The Wyoming Office of Homeland Security said Sunday that members
of the C/5-159 Aviation unit of Cheyenne were deployed to Baggs, where there has been minor flooding in low-lying areas. Wyoming got heavy snow this winter. Now river levels are rising as the mountain snow melts and reservoir managers release water to make room.
State officials have provided teams or technical assistance to
Carbon, Albany, Lincoln, Teton, Fremont, Platte, Goshen, Sheridan,
Johnson, Big Horn, Washakie and Crook counties and to the Wind
River Reservation.
