Governor Says Spending Priorities Remain The Same

Cheyenne, Wy – With the state's budget season heating up, Governor Dave Freudenthal says there will be no major shift in spending priorities. But he says the state should continue to invest in developing a stronger workforce and a diversified economy. The governor says there may more interest in spending to keep some species of wildlife from being listed as threatened or endangered. He does not think the time is right to expand the Hathaway scholarship program and proposed by UW President Tom Buchanan.
