Governor Wants More Money for Communities

Laramie, Wy – Governor Dave Freudenthal says the state can help with the tight housing market in the state.
Already this year the state has sent 105 million dollars to communities impacted by mineral development. This is to deal with the additional costs that development brings. But, Governor Freudenthal says it can also encourage the construction of homes because it can go to building the infrastructure required to put up new homes.
Freudenthal says the 105 million dollars was supposed to last two years, but there was such a need that they spent it all already. He says he hopes the legislature will agree to spend more when it meets this winter.
