Governors to Meet in Cheyenne to Talk Carbon

Cheyenne, WY – The governors of Wyoming, Colorado, Utah
and West Virginia are planning to meet in Cheyenne tomorrow to talk about carbon sequestration.
That's the process of trapping carbon dioxide from power plants
and pumping the gas underground, often to help recharge depleted
oil fields.
Coal gasification also will be discussed. That process involves
turning coal into gas and then burning the gas, which is a cleaner
way of generating electricity from coal.
Wyoming Governor Dave Freudenthal is among several governors who say the federal government needs to provide
incentives for carbon sequestration and "clean coal" technology
like coal gasification.
