Gravel Pit Yields Prehistoric Treasure

Laramie, Wy – Human bones found in a gravel pit
northeast of Rock Springs belonged to an aboriginal American
Indian.
The Sweetwater County coroner says it could not be determined
whether the bones were prehistoric or from an era that included and
followed the first European explorer's presence in the area.
The bones, including a skull, were uncovered last Friday by a
worker loading gravel. There was no sign of trauma.
The nearby Shoshoni and Arapaho tribes will be contacted to see
if they want the bones.
