Grizzly Plan Amended

Casper, WY – The state's grizzly bear management plan was revised Tuesday. The Wyoming Game and Fish Commission made the changes as result of public comment on the first version of the plan. The changes include discouraging grizzlies from areas like the Wyoming, Salt River, and southern Wind River Ranges. Population goals and mortality limits have also been set. The Game and Fish hopes the stage is now set for the removal of federal protections for grizzlies. The US Fish and Wildlife Service has to approve Wyoming's plan before it can petition for delisting.
