Group Concerned with Pope's Statements on Gays

Laramie, WY – The Pope has concerned families of Gays and Lesbians with comments that they think could validate violence towards gays.

During the Pope's visit to America, the group Fortunate Families is asking to the Pope to show more compassion and to stop labeling gays and lesbians as objectively disordered. Wyoming Chapter Representative Drew Conneen says the Vatican does not condemn gay and lesbian people just their sexual activity. That is why he wants the church to show more compassion instead of making inflammatory comments.

Conneen says the suicide rate for gay people is high and those people need to know they are loved by God.
