Group Presents Ideas to Improve Healthcare

Laramie, Wy – The Wyoming Healthcare Commission has come out with several key recommendations. The director of the commission, Anne Ladd, says healthcare could improve if the state set up a program to provide insurance for working people who are going without and did an inventory of the healthcare workforce. Ladd says now they don't know who is doing what- where. For example she says some family practioners deliver babies, so even though there is a shortage of OBGYNs it is impossible to quantify the deficit.
Ladd says another recommendation the commission came up with is measuring the quality of care. She says other states do this and it is a way to find out the strengths and weaknesses that exist in Wyoming.
