Guard troops will leave Wyoming

Cheyenne, Wy – Nearly a third of Wyoming's National Guard members are headed to Kuwait and Iraq for a more than yearlong deployment.
The 941 soldiers are from the Wyoming Army Guard's 115th Fires
Brigade. They will operate a camp in Kuwait that is a stopping
point for troops headed into Iraq. They also will provide
protection for convoys and other military forces in Kuwait and
Iraq.
In April, the Guard members will go to Fort Hood, Texas, for 30
to 90 days of pre-deployment training.
The Wyoming troops will be deployed along with Guard members
from Minnesota, Colorado and South Dakota. About 900 Wyoming Army
National Guard members and all 1,200 Wyoming Air National Guard
members will remain in Wyoming.
