Guesthouses in Teton County Can't Get Bigger

Laramie, Wy – The Teton County Commission has rejected a
proposal to allow larger guest houses in the county.
Commissioners say doubling the allowable size of guest houses to two-thousand square feet is excessive.
Former planning commissioner Michael Shidner proposed excluding basements from the current one-thousand-square-foot cap on guest houses.
Shidner said larger guest houses would provide more affordable
housing. But opponents argued larger homes would increase property
values, not create more affordable housing.
