Higher Paying Jobs Can Add Danger

Laramie, Wy – The Wyoming Department of Employment is stepping up its "Embrace Safety for Life" campaign for workplace safety.
Cynthia Pomery is director of the Wyoming Department of Employment. She says the growth of high-paying jobs in mining and the oil-and-gas industries have prompted many veteran workers to switch careers.

State and federal officials say Wyoming is seeing more workplace accidents.
The Wyoming Department of Employment and the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration both offer programs to help make workplaces safer.
