HIV in Wyoming on the Increase

Wyoming – In Wyoming, the numbers of those with H-I-V has remained the same over the last several years. The Wyoming Department of Health has estimated anywhere between four and eight new cases have been discovered each year. But last year the number of newly diagnosed cases shot up to 28. In other words it more then tripled. Those who follow such things predict that this year the numbers should equal or possibly exceed last year's total. Wyoming health officials have instituted a variety of efforts to test more people for H-I-V and some say this proves the testing is working. But for some, the increase of newly positive cases is troubling. Wyoming Public Radio's Bob Beck reports
