Cheyenne, WY – A variety of game and fish license fees could go up in the near and distant future. The Wyoming House approved a pair of bills that would increase many hunting and fishing fees. This, despite the fear that license fee costs could eventually price some out of the sport. The fact that both bills enjoyed solid support was unusual to longtime observers of the legislature who note that the game and fish has trouble getting support for such efforts in the past. Lusk Democrat Ross Dirks thinks the willingness by the game and fish to take on some new issues has probably helped its creditability. Representative Pat Childers adds that the Game and Fish has done a good job making the case that endangered species management is driving up its costs. The bills now head to the senate.
