Cheyenne, WY – Today the state House supported offering rebates to movie companies that film in Wyoming. But there was a lot of debate about how much money the state should put into these incentives. One group argued for 500 thousand dollars. In the end the House voted for a million dollars. Representative Pat Childers says the big films Wyoming missed out on recently would have required at least that much to cover the incentives. An opponent to spending on film incentives, Representative Pete Jorgenson, says Wyoming shouldn't cheapen itself and movie companies will come here when they need Wyoming to tell their stories.
