Jackson, WY – The Teton County Housing Authority says nearly 500 people are lining up to get into just seven subsidized homes in Wilson.
The homes range in price from $155,000 to $230,000 - far below market value for Jackson Hole.
A lottery will decide who out of the 500 gets to apply for the housing. Successful applicants must meet certain income and asset requirements.
Christine Walker is executive director of the housing authority. She says most people who put for the housing fell into a category in which qualified individuals can make no more than $47,000 a year and couples can make no more than $53,000 a year.
