Hunkins Pitches Economic Plan
Cheyenne, Wy – Democratic Governor Dave Freudenthal says the state is already doing what Republican
gubernatorial candidate Ray Hunkins proposed as part of his
economic plan for the state.
Hunkins today (Thursday) says out-of-state companies doing
business with Wyoming should be asked to establish at least an
office in the state. He says the Freudenthal administration hasn't
done enough to diversify Wyoming's economy.
Hunkins also says he'll work harder to recruit new businesses to
Freudenthal says asking out-of-state firms to put an office in
the state is common practice already.
As for recruiting business, he points out that his
administration has created a program to help local communities
build business parks and other infrastructure to attract
The governor says the state also has improved work force
training programs and is creating the School of Energy at the
University of Wyoming.
Hunkins says he'll unveil more aspects of his economic
development plan later.
