Hydropower Possible In Teton County.

Jackson Hole, Wy – A utility company says installing hydropower equipment at Jackson Lake Dam could power all facilities in Grand Teton National Park. Currently Lower Valley Energy generates no commercial electricity in Teton County. Its only local generation comes from the small Strawberry Reservoir Dam in Lincoln County. Jim Webb is president and C-E-O of Lower Valley Energy. He says if an opportunity to generate electricity at Jackson Lake ever opened up, his company would be interested. But such a project would be complicated. Among other things, the dam is surrounded by Grand Teton National Park and there are concerns about the environmental effects of electric power generation.
