Interior Secretary Predicts Colorado River Pact Next Year

Laramie, Wy – Interior Secretary Dirk Kempthorne says he expects an agreement on sharing Colorado River water during drought "signed, sealed and delivered" by the end of 2007.
Seven Western states share the river's water.

But the states reached a preliminary pact last year. Now, an environmental study is due out in early February.
