Laramie, Wy – An expert in international law says there will soon be major changes in the way cases are handled around the globe. Malcolm McNeil is the past president of the international association of young lawyers. During a visit in Laramie, he said that there is support for an international court. But McNeil says there are jurisdiction problems with that.
Mcneil-We have cases of local domestic violence cases. Is that kind of dispute you want heard in a human rights court?
McNeil says globalization is leading to debate over how to handle intellectual property and other business matters especially when countries have different legal structures. He spoke at the U-W law school.
