Laramie, WY – A Wyoming judge has dissolved a rare restraining order that prohibited a newspaper from publishing stories about a college president's trip to Costa Rica.
District Judge Peter Arnold dissolved his order today/Tuesday against the Wyoming Tribune Eagle.
Press experts say orders barring the media from publishing material are extremely rare and raise constitutional issues.
Arnold on Friday had ordered the newspaper not to publish information about a report concerning Laramie County Community College President Darrel Hammon's trip to Costa Rica in 2008.
On Tuesday, Arnold dismissed the college's argument that it could lose federal funding if the information were published as speculative.
