Judge Sticks With Etna

Afton, Wy – A Lincoln County judge has upheld a decision
by the Star Valley school board to locate a new elementary school
in Etna.
A group of parents and citizens in Alpine who believe the new
school should be built in Alpine had asked District Judge John
Brooks to review the board's decision. But Brooks ruled that the
board relied on "substantial evidence" to locate the school in
Etna.
The Lincoln County School District two board picked Etna, saying
it is geographically centrally located and a school site there
makes the most sense.
But members of a group called the Friends of the Alpine School
argued that Alpine is growing faster and charged some board members
picked Etna because racial reasons.
The Alpine group can appeal the decision to the state Supreme
Court.
