Judge Wants To Get To The Bottom Of CBM

Casper, Wy – A federal judge in Casper is hearing arguments this week in a dispute over how to handle coal-bed methane water.
The Wyoming Outdoor Council and others are challenging the Corps of Engineers permit that allows construction of in-stream dams commonly used to control the water from methane wells.
Underground water is pumped to the surface in order to free the coal-bed methane.
U-S District Judge William Downes says he wants to do what is right for the state whether it's advantageous to environmentalists or to the coal-bed methane industry.
