Lander, Wy – An equipment malfunction at the Lander water treatment plant has forced the town to impose water restrictions on its residents.
Lander emergency management coordinator Dan Shatto says a pump
failed on the plant over the weekend and wont be fixed until
Shatto says the problem means the plant can only treat about 25
percent of its normal amount of water a day.
As a result, the 7,000 residents of Lander are being instructed
not to water lawns, shrubs and flowers or wash their vehicles
outside their homes.
Indoor water use is still permitted and commercial car washes
are still allowed to operate.
