Lander Woman Used Meth While Pregnant

Lander – A Lander woman faces criminal charges under a new Wyoming statute that makes it a felony to use methamphetamine while pregnant. The law went into effect in July and if convicted, Michele Foust could spend up to five years in prison. Fremont County Attorney Ed Newell says local police found out about the case from a tip. He says testing showed methamphetamine in the woman's system and her baby's. According to Newell, the child has been placed in foster care. Prior to the passage of this new statute, Newell says there would probably have been little that law enforcement could do about a case like this.
