Latta Resigns

Gillette, Wy – State Representative Frank Latta has
resigned after moving outside his district in Gillette.
The Campbell County Republican Party has begun searching for up
to three candidates to replace Latta, whose successor will be
chosen by the Campbell County Commission.
Latta says attorneys told him that he could legally remain a
state representative, but he didn't think it would be fair to do
so.
Instead, Latta is planning to run for the County Commission.
Three county commissioners' jobs come up for a vote next year.
Latta, a former mayor of Gillette, says he would be happy to return
to local politics.
Latta was first elected in 2002 and was uncontested in last
year's election.
