Law Enforcement Shuts Down Fewer Meth Labs
Laramie, WY – Wyoming saw seizures of illegal meth labs drop by 57 percent from 2004 to 2005, according to federal officials.
The Bush Administration announced Monday that nationwide, the police seizure of illegal meth labs dropped more than 30 percent last year.
The administration credits restrictions by states and drugstore
chains that have limited access to ingredients used to make the highly addictive drug.
In Wyoming, the number of methamphetamine labs shut down by law
enforcement officials dropped from 21 in 2004 to 9 last year.
Lara Azar, spokeswoman for Wyoming Governor Dave Freudenthal, said Monday the governor's office hadn't yet seen the federal report and couldn't comment on it.
