Cheyenne, WY –
The Wyoming House is considering an effort to get a better handle on how many juveniles are getting into trouble. The bill would require County Attorneys to monitor all Juvenile interactions with law enforcement and determine if some type of intervention is needed. Rock Springs Democrat Bernadine Craft says the goal is to reduce the high number of Wyoming juveniles that are placed in Wyoming jails.
Gillette Republican Erin Mercer opposes the bill, arguing that juveniles are already being handled properly in the state.
The House will debate the bill two more times.
