Legislature Spending Too Much?
Cheyenne, Wy – Both the House and Senate finished work on the budget Friday. Money for the state's family practice centers, a Medicaid program and a cultural trust fund dominated the final day of discussion. Senators agreed to a proposal by Senator Jayne Mockler to free up an additional 107-million dollars, that can be placed into the budget for additional spending. Overall Mockler thinks the budget still needs work because they spent too much and put too much money in savings accounts they can't access for real needs.
House Appropriations Chairman Frank Philip is concerned that the House may have overspent. State Representatives will now review the Senate budget and Senators will review ideas from the House before the budget heads to what is called a conference committee.
