Gillette, Wy – The Wyoming Highway Patrol says troopers
arrested a Montana man they suspect struck and killed a woman walking alongside a highway.
A passer-by found the body of 46-year-old Raylene Fischer, of
Wright, alongside Wyoming Highway 387 in Wright early Saturday
morning. Fischer had left a local bar earlier that night.
Patrol officials said Monday that 44-year-old Raymond Potts, of
Hardin, Mont., is suspected of striking Fischer and leaving the
scene without reporting what happened.
The patrol says troopers arrested Potts after matching pieces
from a Jeep Wrangler that were found at the scene of the collision
to pieces that were missing from Potts' Jeep.
Patrol officials say the case is still under investigation.
