Man dies in Laramie plane crash

Laramie, WY – A 73-year-old man has died after the single-engine airplane he was piloting crashed east of Laramie. Authorities identified the man as Arthur "Blake" Chapman, of Wilson. Chapman was a pilot for Aviat Aircraft of Afton.
Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Mike Fergus says his
Cessna 180 plane crashed in a field on private property about 9
a.m. Wednesday, about 12 miles east of Laramie.
Albany County Undersheriff Rob DeBree tells the Laramie
Boomerang that radio traffic between two small airplanes flying
together toward Laramie before the crash indicated one pilot
reported engine problems.
The other plane landed safely at Laramie Regional Airport.
An investigator for the National Transportation Safety Board the
planes were en route to Afton from Florida. The NTSB is
investigating.
