Laramie, Wy – A former Wyoming Technical Institute student has been sentenced to 18 to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty in a fatal crash in Laramie.
Twenty-one-year-old Frederic V. Saccato was sentenced Monday.
He pleaded guilty in April to aggravated vehicular homicide and
aggravated assault and battery. In exchange, prosecutors dropped
one count of aggravated assault and one count of driving with a
canceled, suspended or revoked license.
Authorities say Saccato was driving a pickup that went out of
control on Nov. 13 and ended up with its rear end in a creek and
its front end on a bridge.
A passenger, 18-year-old Lace Peck, was killed.
Police said Saccato was driving under the influence and his Utah
driver's license was suspended at the time.
