Cheyenne, Wy – Friends and associates of former Wyoming
Supreme Court Justice A-G "Archie" McClintock are remembering him
for his gentle manner and his excellent legal skills.
McClintock died early this morning at a Cheyenne nursing home.
He was 93.
McClintock was appointed to the state Supreme Court in 1973 and
served through 1981. He served as state attorney general from 1982
to 1986 during Governor Ed Herschler's final term.
Governor Freudenthal says he is truly saddened by McClintock's
The governor says McClintock's calm, rational demeanor combined
with his intellect to make him one of the greatest attorney
generals to have served Wyoming.
Former Supreme Court Justice Richard Thomas says his
ex-colleague was a "consummate gentleman" who also harbored a
very deep concern for how the law should protect individuals.
A memorial service is tentatively scheduled for next Wednesday
at Wiederspahn Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes in Cheyenne.
