Laramie, WY – The Michigan state House has voted to move
the state's presidential nomination contests to January 15th.
The vote comes after Wyoming Republicans decided to move theirs to January 5th.
Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm is expected to sign the bill, but approval of the switch is far from certain.
A disagreement among Michigan Democratic leaders over whether to hold a primary or a caucus could complicate the issue.
If Michigan holds a mid-January primary, Iowa and New Hampshire will probably move up their first-in-the-nation contests.
Michigan Republicans agreed to the January 15 primary if the Democrats held theirs on the same day.
